Tech industry engagement and support

Survey for tech industry members: complete this short survey by December 6 and you will be automatically invited to attend our free on-line equality law training sessions.

This workstream entails reciprocal engagement between equality defenders and UK developers and suppliers of the data, software, interfaces and organisational systems through which AI-enabled services are deployed. It will begin by surveying and assessing developer awareness and understanding of contemporary UK and European equality laws, focusing on how the design and real-world deployment of AI-enabled services may violate legal duties to ensure the equal treatment of all persons regardless of race, ethnic or social origin, genetic features, gender, language, religion or belief, membership of a national minority, property, birth, disability, age or sexual orientation.

The survey findings will enable us to identify gaps or common misunderstandings held by tech sector stakeholders about equality law and its applicability to digital services. This will enable us to create on-line training materials directed towards addressing those gaps and correcting misunderstandings. During the training and networking phase, which will offer on-line training for tech industry participants (based on our survey findings), seeking to ‘demystify equality law’ for tech developers.
